In previous publications, we have talked about the importance of sustainable developments, since environmental circumstances demand that we be increasingly responsible in our consumption of resources, as well as in sustainable construction.
Today, there are certifications that guarantee that the new real estate developments or that the existing ones comply with the characteristics in the care of the environment and resources, and precisely grant them the title of sustainable building. In the article CERTIFICATIONS FOR SUSTAINABLE BUILDINGS, we present you the LEED certification and will tell you about WELL.
The WELL certification is based on the measurement, monitoring, and certification of the built environment’s performance that impacts human health and well-being through fundamental concepts and 3 characteristics of buildings: behavior, operation, and design.
This certification seeks to improve the quality of the indoor environment to provide health, well-being, and productivity through different concepts:
Several versions of the WELL Certification are currently available: version 1 (WELL v1), version 2 (WELL v2), and WELL Core (variant of WELL v2). Although these versions pursue the same goal, each of them implies a particular style and workflow for each team.
WELL v1 is the first available version of the WELL Certification. It consists of 7 different concepts: Air, Water, Nutrition, Lighting, Physical Well-being, Comfort, and Mind.

How to get certified?
To be a creditor of this certification, either in any of its versions, the development must meet all the preconditions according to the level that it wishes to reach.
There is a single certification that adapts to any project. The 1st step consists of entering the specific characteristics of the project (location, use, and general data) to receive the personalized scorecard.
The maximum score will be 110 points: 100 optimization points and 10 innovation points.
Once the scorecard is obtained, the certification process is as follows:
